A brief history
Black Hills Beauty College began in Rapid City, SD in 1978 by Patrick Miller, a well-known hairstylist and salon owner. Mr. Miller dedicated himself to providing the best training possible for those pursuing a career in Cosmetology.
In 1990, Mr. Miller retired and Black Hills Beauty College was purchased by Tom and Joy Poloncic. Tom, a construction company owner and Joy, an employee of Black Hills Beauty College since 1984, have dedicated themselves to continue the success and reputation of Black Hills Beauty College set forth by Mr. Miller. Because of the continued success and high demand of graduates from Black Hills Beauty College, they have grown to two locations; the original location in Rapid City, SD and the new location in Sioux Fall, SD. The students of BHBC and the education they receive have always been the #1 priority, so BHBC employs highly educated instructors and a professional support staff. Plus, to ensure the students are receiving the best education possible, Black Hills Beauty College continues to offer the industry leading Pivot Point curriculum. Pivot Point is the World Leader in hair and beauty education with locations in 70 countries. It annually provides hair design training to 50,000 to 75,000 people worldwide. Black Hills Beauty College has been a Pivot Point Member School for over 25 years.
