Our placement assistance is always available at no additional charge to graduates who have worked out in the field and would like to change locations. Black Hills Beauty College will post job openings, help students write resumes, and set–up interviews with salons. However, we cannot guarantee placement for everyone.
Academic Advising
Black Hills Beauty College provides to each student the opportunity to receive additional academic and personal advising on the basis of need, as determined by the student or school official.

Black Hills Beauty College will disclose information from a student’s records only with the written consent from the student for each request. Information from a student’s records will be disclosed without written consent to: persons employed by BHBC or under contract by BHBC (ie; attorney, auditor, administrator), certain U.S. Department of Ed. Officials, if requested by state law, to our accrediting agency, to comply with a Judicial Order or to an official in a health or safety emergency.
Housing

Notice of Licensing, Placement, and Completion Rates
These rates, as stated here, are reported on our National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences Annual Report for 2005/06. Licensing: Of the 38 graduates that took the state board licensing examination in the past year, 38 passed the examine the first time taken. That is a pass rate of 100%.
Placement: 37 of the 37 people who were eligible to be employed during the reporting period were placed in jobs for their course of study. That is a placement rate of 100%.
Completion: Of the 58 students that were scheduled to graduate during the reporting period 38 did graduate during their scheduled time. That is a completion rate of 66%.
As you can see with the rates above, Black Hills Beauty College (BHBC) has excellent licensing and placement rates. This can be attributed directly to the quality of education you can receive at this institution.
At BHBC we strive to provide the most in-depth and challenging training found in this region. Part of this effort is the expectations we put on the students to learn and to be responsible for their education. BHBC offers support service to our students to help them with their attendance and academic progress through school.
There are many factors that contribute to a student’s ability to focus on their attendance while in school. With the contracted time for the completion of school, most students find it is not that difficult to attend school on the scheduled days. Some find it difficult to balance the demands of life; ie. children, jobs, budgets, etc. with their desire to attend school on a regular basis. These types of things can lead a student to leave school before they are finished.
It is exactly these issues, the expectations of the school and the demands of a student’s life, that have lead to the completion rate listed above. That is why we always encourage prospective students to consider those types of situations while deciding when to start school.
Even though the school may have a seemingly low completion rate, (NACCAS allows a rate as low as 50%) the facts of the high placement and licensing rates speaks highly of the quality of education Black Hills Beauty College provides those who do complete the program. Another great testament to the quality of education and the relationship BHBC has with its students is that a number of those students that withdraw, return to our school and successfully complete the program.
